DESCRIPTION

• The largest monkeys off all


monkeys
• Extremely colorful
• Blue and Red skin
• Brightly hued rumps- shading of
color can vary
• Extremely long canine teeth
BEHAVIOR

• They are terrestrial

• Communicate through scent marks, vocalizations,


and body language
• Can shake their head or even grin! – showing
canines usually means it’s a friendly gesture.
• Loud human like scream, usually in the beginning of
the day.
• If they are upset they beat the ground energetically

• They have cheek pounches to store snacks for later


consumption.
• Very active on ground. But can climb and sleep on
trees. (Females particular hunt in trees, males on
the ground)
• Live in troops. Can have dominant male and a dosen
females or gather in multi-male/multi female groups
that can include some 200 individuals.
HABITAT AND DIET

Found in tropical
rainforests, grasslands of
Ominovores- seeds, roots,
southern Cameroon,
insects, amphilins,
Gabon, Equatorial
reptiles
Guinea, Congo in
western-central Africa.

MY EXHIBIT
