Fernando Botero is a Colombian painter, draftsman
and sculptor, born in Medellin on April 19, 1932.
Botero is one the most recognized plastic artists in
colombia in recent decades. todaay he is 89 years old.
Fernando Botero has his own style, he has white hair,
bronw eyes, white skin and thick build. he usually
dresses formally, accompanyng his suits with scarf,
jackets, crees pants. the most peculiar feature of his
crative personality, which makes his paintings easily
recognizable, is his particular conception and
expresión of volumes.
Compared to other artist, fernando botero stands out for
his figurative style, he even has an official name:
“boterismo”.
both in painting and sculpture, he makes more robust
and thicker figures tan usual, that is, fat.
you could say that botero paints a magical realism. his is
a world known and remembered, but wonderful things
happen there.
