World wide web was created in 1990 by tim berners-lee and was made free for public use in 1993.
According to numbers, 4 million blog posts, 500 million tweets, 5 billion google searches are being
made everyday.
As the number of mobile users exceed the desktop users, mobile apps were introduced. Major
reasons for the transition were:

collection is prominent.
 Mailing services: Almost every internet user has an account on Gmail rather than other
mailing services
 Entertainment: YouTube is widely used for music, gaming, news, learning among the others.
 Transport services: Uber is one of the few commonly used apps

 Gmail is a free email service developed by Google.


 The idea for Gmail was developed by Paul Buchheit several years before it was
announced to the public, the project was kept secret from most of Google's own
engineers.
 Gmail was announced to the public by Google on April 1, 2004 as a limited 
beta release
 Anyone aged 13 and above can set up and manage their own Google accounts.
 The minimum age restriction is in place because of the Children's Online Privacy
Protection Act (COPPA).

 YouTube was launched in beta on February 14, 2005, by former
PayPal employees Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen.
 Jawed also posted the very first video – a 19-second clip of him
at the San Diego Zoo – on YouTube.
 In 10 months youtube crossed the milestone of 50 million users.

become a registered user of Facebook

 In 2007 Facebook reached 50 million user milestone.
 By 2009 Facebook app was available on almost mobiles of every top company.
 Total 500 million users in July 2010.
 In 2010 FB released the original web-centric mobile app.
 100 million plus logging in to FB app every month by February 2010.
 Facebook was the most downloaded mobile app of the 2010s globally.
 Then there was an exponential increase in its user base as sales of smartphone
grew many folds.
 As the FB app evolved many users shifted from website to app.
 Now nearly 96% of active Facebook users access FB through its mobile app.
  Facebook claimed that it had more than 2.6 billion monthly active users as of first
quarter of 2020.

With the help of track driver feature, users can track the driver and
status of their rides. The app allows its users to integrate their social
media handles for creating their profiles. The users can connect,
follow and make recommendations on destinations.

• Uber’s biggest market is the US (with 41.8 million users in March The second- biggest
Uber market is Brazil, in which 17 million were using the app in March 2018.
• London, UK is the biggest European Uber market, with 3.5 million users. In India, there
were reportedly over 5 million weekly active riders as of August 2017.
