The beauty of music
It’s unimaginable what our society would be without music. It is impressive how creativity and language are
combined, creating music to express human ideas and feelings. They have existed many extraordinary
musicians that have influenced music styles and people’s minds. Playing a key role in social history because
people found in music a medium by which they could be heard. John Lennon, for example, with his peace
movement against Vietnam’s War and resulting with a majestic song called Imagine, that doesn’t just move
masses but also hearts around the globe and is considered one of the best songs in history.
Music can be so powerful that it has been possible to unit social groups despite their differences. Even two
persons that have distanced themselves along the years, just by hearing a song, can reunite again just because
of the feeling it sparkles inside them. Get people back together is a beautiful role that music has in society,
without mentioning the beauty of the melody by itself.
Not everybody will like the same music, but, indeed, it is always going to exist music for each of us, enriching
people’s lives. Listening to music is like feeling, either happiness or sadness, stimulating or depressing, but
what music makes us feel it’s the true purpose, bringing beauty to our lives.
People constantly link life moments with a melody during life, and it’s the same with society. Enriching
people’s lives is the more significant role of music in society because a fragment of imagination, history, and
feeling is impregnated slightly to each musical creation.
Students onboarding
Last week we had our annual onboarding event for the new students to our college. The welcoming started at 8 o'clock, followed
by the traditional walk around. It was shown in detail, the school facilities ending in the cafeteria for lunch. It is worth mentioning
that we had an increase of 3% this year compared with the previous one. After the meal, we divided the group into smaller ones
and took them to the classrooms for the principal's speech, and afterwards, there was an introductory class to our academic life.
Overall, the onboarding was excellent, with minor incidents. Some students arrive late to the meeting point, saying that they got
lost at the entrance, causing us a 30 min delay, however it was compensated with lunchtime. The time we spent this year in
planning brings us a better schedule distribution, even with the delay mentioned. The shirts delivery as the last activity was a wise
choice since students always take more time sharing their thoughts, experiences and getting along with each other; it is always the
most enriching activity for the students.
Recommendations
We write down a couple of suggestions we may want to do for next's year event:
Food is not always enough, and we didn't expect the aggregated number of new students. We should allocate more budget to this
item.
The traditional walk around the campus is the favorite but designing a rally activity to have more dynamism is highly
recommended.
Put more signals at the entrance to get the meeting point easily.
