Slop Storage and CBD

Details of the systems in MR2

Philosophy
• The PSV discharge opens into Closed Blow Down line that carry slop
generated from various sources to the CBD vessel 161-VV-001 through
underground CBD networks.
• The CBD Main header is of 4’’ size and the sub headers from pumps are
of 2’’ and have valve in a locked open setting.
• PSV discharge sub header of FLO is 3’’ in size.
• The line main line is made of Carbon steel (A1A) with CA of 1.5 mm.
The design p and t are 3.5 kgcm2 and 65c however the opr cond is
assumed to be ambient.
• Cean out pit note 29?

• The CBD Vessel has a mixer (161-MX-001) and a pump for transfer
(161-PA-SM-022A). The capacity of CBD pump is 20 m3/hr and its
CBD Vessel rated ∆H is 85 m and has a seal plan according to API 53B. The
spare of pump is located in the warehouse.

Dimension (m) 2*6.5 • There are two radar LT with LI and two TE with TT and TI.
(ID x T-T)
• The mixer and pump have an interlock (I-3012) based on the level
(LALL) and temperature (TAHH) in the vessel. If the interlock is
activated the pump will stop and the mixer shall trip.
Storage Capacity 15 m3
• The Pump discharge has a PI and NRV and it splits into two lines, a
2’’ CBD return line having two valves (one globe) that joins the 2’’
FLO line and falls back into the vessel and another 6” Slop header.

• The 6’’ Slop header has FI and FT attached to a MFM.

Design Pressure 3.5 kg/cm2 g
• In case of IFO draining to the CBD, temperature should be
maintained around ambient condition using FLO.
Design 120 o C
• A steam ring with connection to LP Steam has been provided at

the vent of vessel for proper blanketing of any HC gases escaping.

• Gas detector have been provided near the CBD vessel with alarm
in DCS C/R.
