Literary Criticism
Literary criticism is the comparison, analysis, interpretation, and
evaluation of literary works. Literary criticism is basically an opinion
supported by evidence relating to a historical or political theme,
style, setting or context. Although criticism can include the following
elements to support an idea, literary criticism is NOT a plot summary,
an author's biography, or simply fault-finding a literary work.

Researching, reading, and writing literary criticism will help you

better understand the work, form judgments about literary work,
study ideas from different perspectives, and determine on an
individual level whether a literary work is worth reading. To carry out
literary criticism, we must understand what kind of literary work we
will make as criticism.
Literary Work
Literary works are works that are communicated to the communicator by
means of the author for aesthetic reasons. These works are often said by the
first and third persons of the plot and use of various literary means with
respect to their time. Literary works also have many types such as novels,
poetry, movies / films, and many others.
Because we are going to carry out literary criticism, our group selected a
literary work based on a Movie. Where the movie is titled MOANA. Where
in the story, literary work is shown as a form of psychological
phenomenon, where it is a role condition that illustrates psychiatry. Where
it is explained that literature and psychology have a close relationship,
indirectly and functionally.
The word "indirectly" is a literary work with psychology having one thing
in common, namely human life. Whereas "functional" in psychiatric
studies. The relationship between literature and psychology also has
different things, namely about treatment. Psychology is something that is
done in a real way and can be seen in terms of behavior, while literature is
something that is done through imagination.
Moana Movie
• Why we choose Moana as our literary work?
Cause one of the literary works that tells a
psychological aspect is the Moana film. Moana is
one of the most popular Walt Disney films in
2016-2017. This film tells about the desire of a
child named Moana. He wanted to cross the ocean
to save the Motunui people from an economic
downturn, but he was always banned by his
father. Moana's personality was chosen as the
