because if he/she can share ideas and
prior knowledge relevant to the
conversation probably he/she has the
reading comprehension.
1. What can you say about the checklist?
The checklist shows observable
behavior of the students in grade 2. It
emphasizes behaviors from Easy up to
Complex behavior that may be
observed or not observe in their age
and level of development.
2. Are these behavior that you expect to
see in the pupils that you teach?
Yes, but not all children develop in the
same way at the same time. We should
consider their Individual Differences
and accept things that we found with
them.

surprised to see in the checklist for your grade level
or observe among the pupils in your grade level?
 Reads and Comprehends both fiction and nonfiction that
is appropriately designed for the grade level.
 Shows evidence of expanding language (e.g., making
jokes, arguments, explaining complex situations),
including increasing use of more formal language

dramatizations, oral presentations, and fantasy play.

4. Looking at the checklist of literacy behavior from
kindergarten to grade 3 do you see the progression
of literacy progression from simple to complex both
within and across grade level?
Yes, there is progress in literacy from simple
to complex. Children learn from simple to
complex. The teacher should slowly or step by
step introduce challenges to children. As they
gain more experiences, their thinking also
expands. Teachers need to discover what they
know before introducing new lessons to
activate their prior knowledge

which one are the more complex?
