What is tillage?

• Tillage is an activity carried

out for land preparation
before planting with the
aim of conditioning the
environment for plant
growth
Why do tillage done?

• Because the soil becomes a

place for plant roots to
grow, microorganisms live,
the availability of nutrients
and water storage

• The first of tillage tool
1. Singkal Plow,
Singkal plow is agricultural
equipment for tillage coupled with a
source of driving power. Towing such as
cattle, buffalo or agricultural tractors.
The singkal plow functions to cut, turn
over, break the soil and immerse plant
debris into the soil, and are used for the
first stage of soil cultivation.

2. Plate Plow
The plate plow is disc-shaped, which
is round and concave like a frying pan
with a diameter ranging from 60 to 80
cm. This type of plow can only be pulled
by a large four-wheeled tractor. Usually
this tool is used to plow the sugarcane
fields around us

1. Rotary Plow
The result of plowing with a rotary
plow gives the tillage soil that is
immediately crushed and evenly
distributed, because this type of plow
consists of rotating rotary blades that
destroy the soil.

2. Nail rake plow
These rakes have teeth that are
shaped like nails consisting of several
rows of teeth which are fastened to the
frame. These rakes are used to smooth
and level the soil after plowing. Also can
be used for weeding on newly grown
plants.
How to maintain a mechanization machine?
• Increase the fuel to the maximum limit
• Adding radiator water if it is not enough
• Increase or decrease tire pressure if it does not meet the
recommended standards
• Adding engine and transmission lubricating oil, if the level is
below standard
• Clean the fuel bowl and remove sediment, if it is dirty and
there is water sedimentation
• Adding battery water to the maximum limit, when it is close
to the minimum limit
How do we care for the tillage plow?
• After using the tool, it should
be washed immediately and
then stored in a shady place
that is protected from rain
and sunshine, otherwise it
will rust the plow
• if one of the knives is not
working it must be replaced
immediately
