SENTENCE

• We know that a n g o s e m
are some of the letters of the English
alphabet.
• When we group letters they form words.
• Let’s group these letters and find out what
word it is.

YOU'RE RIGHT . It is ‘mangoes’


Let’s look at two more examples.

PERFECT.
It is ‘children’
Now the easiest one
ovle
CORRECT.
It is ‘love’
Now, many such words when grouped together make
a sentence.
However just a group of words does not make a
sentence.

It sounds funny. Isn't it.
Let’s arrange them the right way.
Children love mangoes.
WHAT IS A SENTENCE ?
• A sentence is a group of words that are
arranged to make a complete sense.
EXAMPLE:-
1. Rohan tells us funny jokes.
2. Rupa is a tall girl.
• A sentence always begins with a capital letter
and ends with a full stop, question mark or an
exclamation mark.
EXAMPLE:-
• We must keep our toys and books in proper
places.
• Where have you been all these months?
• What a tasty dish it is!
• A sentence always contains a verb.
