CULTURAL CENTER
A cultural center  is an organization, building or complex that promotes culture and arts. Cultural
centers can be neighborhood community. 

A contemporary building enhancing the citizens connect with their own culture and allowing
them to learn from others. ... It is clearly the central element inside the building and the rest of the
spaces as meeting rooms, exhibition areas, office space at the first floor will be visually connected with
this central space.

What is  culture 


• It’s a combination of time, space and people of a society
• A cultural center is a place of learning and a repository 
      of information, in essence, large archives. 
• Changes with time and place. 
• Culture is communication. Communication is culture. 
• Culture is the systems of knowledge shared by a relatively
      large group of people. 
• Culture in its broadest sense is cultivated behavior;
• A culture is a way of life of a group of people
• Culture is also known as tradition

  
CULTURAL CENTER
Space and physical requirements for cultural center

• have a vital link between existing communities and future urban


development. 
• ground floor can be used as a cultural and recreational plaza, accessible
from every direction.  Plaza accessible from every direction
• the building can be designed in such way so that different public activities
can take place in shared public spaces located in the plaza. 
• Sustainable design with natural ventilation system and construction process
can be done. 
• building should include a public courtyard. 
• plaza can be lifted to create access parking below and plaza drop of at street

CULTURE OF BANGLADESH
The cultures of Bangladesh  is manifested in various forms, including music, dance,
drama; art craft; folklore folktale; languages literature; philosophy religion; festivals celebrations

DANCE:
The music dance styles of Bangladesh may be divided into three categories:
classical, folk, modern.
Several dancing styles like Manipuri Santhali dances are practiced

Bangladesh has a rich tradition of folk songs like Bhatiali, Baul, Marfati, Murshidi, Bhawaiya

      A very rough rule of thumb is to allow for

• A drama studio needs a working space of 120–150m², with an area for
performance of about 90m²                                                           
• The shape of the room isn’t essential, but it must be possible to vary the
shape within the volume which can be achieved by curtains suspended
on tracking
• A height of 4.3m will give clearance to a lighting gallery all round the
space, or at least on one wall

Some factors to keep in mind while designing exibition spaces:
• Viewers should be able to move through the exhibit whitout being forced to
walk past objects they have already seen
• Adequate space for visitors to move at different speed

• The ability to survey the gallery area in one sweep

• The largest and most versatile cultural centre in Hunan
province
• the Culture & Arts Centre connects directly with its
station on Line 2 of Changsha’s new Metro System
• The Small Theatre is characterized by its flexibility. 
• This multipurpose hall with a capacity of 500 seats
• Totaling 115,000 sq.m, these three civic institutions are
uniquely defined and separate, yet complement each other

The multifunctional cultural complex (CEM), with a contemporary and sculptural identity, is located on the Maggiore Lake
coast.
• a wide entrance foyer for cultural events and art exhibitions,

• service and ancillary spaces, offices, a rehearsal theatre, a restaurant and a cafe.

• The site draws on surrounding landscape typologies (rice paddies,
wetlands, forests and riverbanks, as well as the urban fabric) to
create a permeable and interconnected series of individually
programmed outdoor spaces, organized around a central square.
• In naming the project Sejong Museum Gardens, the garden is
recognized as a vital link between culture and nature, 
• the designers hope that this project can give the people of Sejong
and South Korea—a place to nurture this relationship.

• The purpose of the Multan Cultural Complex is to promote and enhance the
rich and historical culture of the region.
• In the proposed cultural complex the building itself reflects the massive fair
face structure with blue Multani tile bands, which is the typical style of
Multan.
