3 Introduction
 One type of renewable energy source is the photo voltaic (pv
cell) which converts sunlight into an electric current without
any form for mechanical or thermal interlink. Pv cells are
usually connected together to make pv modules, consisting of
72 pv cells which generates the DC voltage between 23 volt to
45 volts and a typical maximum power of 160 watt depending
on temperature and solar radiation.

 Solar panel efficiency depends on various factors such as

solar intensity (brighter the sunlight, the more there is for the
solar cell to convert). Temperature, dust which decreases the
efficiency of panel etc.
4 Abstract
 Solar energy is completely natural, it is considered a clean
energy source. So the study on improving the efficiency of
solar panel is very necessary. In this paper we have discuss
various methods of efficiency improvement of solar panel.

 We can improve efficiency of solar panel by using solar

tracker with panel which continuously tracks sunlight
throughout the day to get maximum solar energy. Second
method to improve the efficiency is dust cleaning. Third
method is cooling technique. Aim of this paper is to increase
the efficiency and power output of the solar panel.
5 Literature Review and
conclusion
 Decrease in the power production due to dust or scaling on the
PV panels and the physically difficulty which we face to clean
those big size panels motivates us to work in this particular
field as we have carried out various research regarding the
seriousness of the problem through various internet feed,
discussion with the professors, discussion with teachers at
PMKY and also with lecturers at GISE.

 Due to enormous help from the professors and as well as

internet we got to know that how intricate the problem is!
6 Analysis of dust on solar
panels
 The radiation reaching on the surface can decrease and the
angle of incidence on the surfaces of modulus changes due to
the dust on the panels. According to the research there is loss
of about 4% - 5% of energy daily.

 Test has been conducted for the energy losses due to red stain,
dust, ash etc give different results. Also the size of dust plays an
important role in reduction of energy generation, more the size
the less will be generation of energy. The drop of voltages and
out power has been observed and shown in below graph.

Methodology and its importance
 Our main criteria to use this mechanism is base on
household applications because in now days due influential
by the government people showing their interest towards to
go green by using solar panels.

 Our mechanism which is purely design by keeping in mind

the structural toughness of the sections which is used to fix
the panels. Here we are going to use to TWO DC SERVO
motors which will help to rotate the mop over the panels as
INDIA is a humid country so we are using water for the
perfect cleaning of the panel. The motors are to be connected
with the electricity.

12 Advantages
 Extend lifetime of solar panels

 Improvement in performance of solar system.

 Reduce the cost of operation.

 This type of system can clean the solar farm as and when
require very easily without man power. Thus saving the cost
and wastage of water.

 It give 30% more output which compared to the dust

accumulated on solar panels.

13 Future Work
 By amendments we can further modify this mechanism. As
of now when we start the then and then the mechanism will
work and cleaning of solar panel carried out.

 But if we make a program of cleaning of the panels at

regular interval then the cleaning of panel will start
automatically at given time so we don’t need to do that
regularly.

 This mechanism will remove the cumbersomeness of

cleaning the solar panels manually.

Conclusion
 World is moving towards the non convectional source of
energy hence we are working to provide some solution to that
typical problems which demotivates us by using them.
Cleaning of the panels is one the main problem as before the
problem was the hike pricing of the panels but as of now
government has introduced some subsidies to those who is
willing to get solar panels

 We have created a design of the mechanism which will

eliminate the cumbersomeness of the cleaning of the panels.
Hence in future we will introduce automatic cleaning by using
program methodology as of now we are using mechanism
methodology.
