The best career advice that I have received was from my mates
aunt,
whilst we was on holiday in Spain!

She convinced me to stay on at Sixth Form, rather than taking

an ‘easier option.’

It’s hard to get Career Advice from friends

though, because they are in the same situation
as me!

I prefer to get advice from younger people,

late 20s rather than those 50+, as they
understand the current education system
better, and can advise us on what courses to
take, to get a certain job.
I haven’t really had an ‘Outrageous Job’....

Well apart from travelling 3 hours a day, often cleaning up people’s sick,
but because I work in a fantastic team of young people, we make it really fun!

I did some volunteering work last summer at the World Scout Jamboree,
which was a camp where 40,000 people attended from around the world...

Some of the tasks involved cleaning toilets, but we just sang and danced,
and ended up enjoying some of the worse jobs imaginable!
I am a really calm person, so nothing really gets me ‘hot under the collar!’

But, I have noticed that within the team, many of them get quite annoyed
when they are always asked frequent questions such as:

‘Where is the toilet’

‘Is this the car park for Chessington World of Adventures’
‘How do I get to this ride’ (When the sign for it is opposite!)

Personally they don’t annoy me at all....

But, I do not like when only some team members are performing at
their best, whilst the others think they can get paid the same pay, and
only do half the work!! =(

But I still don’t let it show.... although at time I think I should!!

I have not been to many interviews, but one interview really stands out!

Back in February, I applied for the Chessington World of Adventures job,

and was given the date and time of the interview!

BUT, being myself, I turned up a week toooo early....

I really did look like a fool, just waiting there for around an hour,
whilst nobody turned up! At least an hour or so later, one of the managers
turned up to see what I was waiting for..... and we spoke for a while.

Made me more confident the week later, when I went for the interview!
s not all about the money for me!

would much rather bring a smile to people’s faces, than just be bring in the

ell you need to find the balance....

would love to be FAMOUS, but not for being a footballer, or singer....

although that would be nice!

elping others less fortunate and resolving world issues would be a much more
tisfying job for me!

o that would be my dream job......

othing is impossible!
I haven’t given this too much thought really yet, as I still like to think I’m young

But I do realise decisions now will affect my chances later on in life!

My results from exams, my work experience, and what courses I choose to stud
will all have an impact on my careers in the future.

One thing that I have decided is that I would like to visit the world, and hopefull
try out different jobs all over the world, whilst experiencing different
cultures and beliefs.
have you earned any money this week?
week I have worked 4 days at Chessington, which has earned me £178!
e also done some Dubit Insider promotional work, earning me £15...
have made this Presentation for Live Insight/BBC earning me another £5!!!

are you feeling about earning, and your money situation?

week, I am really happy as I have made around £200!!! Have only spent
nd £10/£15 this week, so my money situation is looking really good.

have you come into contact with this week?

ny encounters with bosses, colleagues or clients stand out for any reason?
ith every week, I deal with thousands of people in one way or another.
week one really aggressive guest at work stood out who threatened to stab
ecause he was kicked out because of queue jumping! Was quite scary though...

t’s been your working high of the week?

ight of this week, was eating free KFC at the edge of the field car park, and then
ng a nap with another guy, and still getting paid for it!

t’s been your working low of the week?

d definitely have to be the amount of time I loose to do other social activities.
week I have not gone out as much as previous week, but at least now I have the money to
