• The National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP
2020), which was approved by the Union Cabinet
of India on 29th July 2020, outlines the vision of
new education system of India.

• The policy is a comprehensive framework for elementary


education to higher education as well as vocational
training in both rural and urban India. The policy aims to
transform India's education system by 2040.
Principles of
the Policy
The purpose of the education system is to
develop good human beings capable of
rational thought and action, possessing
compassion and empathy, courage and
resilience, scientific temper and creative
imagination, with sound ethical values. It
aims at producing engaged, productive, and
contributing citizens.
After a long 34 years of gap our
education policy was changed in
2020. Earlier it was,

SOME IMPORTANT REFORMS
IN THE NATIONAL
EDUCATION POLICY 2020:
10+2 System has been dropped.

10+ 2 has been changed to


5+3+3+4 system of
schooling.
5+3+3+4 system has been divided into 4
stages:

1. FOUNDATIONAL STAGE

2. PREPARATORY STAGE

3. MIDDLE SCHOOL STAGE

4. HIGH SCHOOL STAGE


FOUNDATIONAL STAGE

• It’s duration is of 5 years.

• It includes 3 years of pre-primary


and Grade 1 and Grade 2.

• Age group is of 3 to 8 years.


During the Foundational
stage , Importance will be
given to the mother tongue
of the students.
PREPARATORY STAGE

• It’s duration is of 3 years.

• It Includes Class 3 , Class 4


and Class 5.

• Age group is of 8 to
11 years.
MIDDLE SCHOOL STAGE

• It’s duration is of 3 years.

• It includes Class 6 , Class 7


and Class 8.

• Age group is of 11 to 14
years.
COMPUTER CODING will be
taught to the students of Class 6
onwards. As a result they will
learn to develop softwares and
applications from their early
age.

INTERNSHIP OR PRACTICAL
EXPERIENCE TRAINING

If any student wants to take


practical experience in their field of
interest like painting, computer,
coding etc. they can take training
from experts during the period of
their schooling.
HIGH SCHOOL STAGE

• It’s duration is of 4 years.

• It includes Class 9, Class 10,


Class 11 and Class 12.
• Age group is of 14 to 18
years.

• It is divided into
two phases.
SEMESTER SYSTEM
OF EXAMINATION

Students will have to


appear examination twice
in a year.
360 DEGREE ASSESSMENT
REPORT CARD

In the Final Report card, The result


of not only quantitative assessment
but also qualitative assessment of
the students will be recorded.
NO STREAM SYSTEM

A student can opt for any


subjects of any stream
of his/her interest.

For Example, he or she can take a


combination of accounts, history
and physics.
FOUR YEARS BACHELOR
DEGREE COURSE

• On the exit on doing 1 year course, student


will get a “Course Certificate”.

• On the exit on doing 2 year course, student


will get a “Diploma Certificate”.
• On the exit on doing 3 year course,
student will get a “Bachelor Degree
Certificate”.

• On the completion of full Course,


student will get a “Bachelor Degree
along with a Research Certificate”.
Credit Transfer and
Academic Bank of Credits

Credit Transfer is the acceptance of


prior learning represented in course
units or credits applied and
articulated (denoted) on a student's
academic transcript.
