POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF THE LAWSUIT

POSITIVE:-
1. In case Chanchala was cultivating cannabis for selling purpose and
not for industrial use, then surely the company can use this against
her.

2. Since in agriculture farmers use pesticides which can contaminate the

water and thus would be considered as the positive consequences in
lawsuit.

3. Also the company has its deal with the panchayat on a contractual
basis (legal) for 30 years then it can definitely backfire against
Chanchala.
NEGATIVE:-

1. If the lawsuit would be filed then there are chances that the jobs that were been provided by the MNC to the locals would be
affected.
2. There is also a possibility that the revenue which was been collected by the panchayat for the welfare of the village would no
longer be generated or would be cut short.
3. In case the judgement of the case is against the MNC then they have to pay high compensatory and punitive damages to
Chanchala.
4. This would affect the brand image of the MNC in the market and would give an upper hand to its competitors.
5. As we know that no company sell 100% natural water and if in case during the case it is revealed that the company is creating a
false picture to sell the product then it would be taken in against for the company.
