communities by providing direct support to local communities.

o Lives Impacted – 1.5 Million of which 60% of beneficiaries are

Crops grown in the village
Banana
• Majorly produced as almost each house with some extra land has at least 7-10 banana trees
• Saplings once planted stays for 5 years
Mangoes
• There is a big orchard of mango trees in the village which constitutes around 50%-55% of
cultivable lands
Guava
• It constitutes around 5% of the cultivable lands
Litchi
• Very few litchi trees are there as the quality of the produce is not as good as the Muzaffarpur

• Vegetable are grown only for self consumption and not for selling the produce

Issues of the Village
 Lack of Primary School in the village
 Lack of pucca road in the interior of the village, specially in Paswan tola.
 No proper waste management and drainage system
 No water supply from the Water Tank
 Women’s not participating in economical activity
 Younger generation people are not focused

Farm Based Livelihood

Introduction
• Why Farm Based Livelihood Theme
a) Current situation

c) Extreme poverty
• Objective of the study – To demonstrate that there is a case for taking specific interest in
agriculture as part of the agenda to tackle poverty. We can do it by forming a FPO through the
help of AKRSPP(I).

Government Initiative
• Central Government aims to start 10K FPO, which aims to alleviate poor farmers from poverty
through collective actions.
• PM Kisan Credit Card , PM Samman Nidhi Yojana, PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima , Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojana

Business Model
• To take lands on lease who don’t own the land and the
one who has land will be doing farming on their lands
itself
• Only 1 member from each households
• May take land up to 1 acre per member
• Practice based method for farming and use best quality
saplings
• Once the FPO is big enough they can venture into
production of candies and other things.
