Overview #

DRE is an energy system, installed at, or, near the point of use, where renewable energy is generated, stored
and used locally.

DRE livelihood applications encompasses activities, appliances and services required for a means of living and
are powered by decentralised RE sources such as solar.

DRE livelihood applications in agriculture, agro-processing, dairy, poultry, fisheries, tailoring, tailoring, etc.,
which have been tested at the field level by various agencies and have the potential to be replicated in large
quantities. However, this is still only a small fraction of the overall spectrum of livelihood activities across the
600,000 villages in India.

Key Activities #

 Need Assessment – Conducting quantitative and qualitative survey in the identified blocks to understand the community
pain-points, use cases, aspirations and impact on accessing DRE
 Partnerships – Based on the need assessment outcomes, building partnerships with various technology service provider
companies and finalising the vendor on boarding and service delivery agreements
 Multi-stakeholder Workshops – with Uttar Pradesh SRLM, Administration, Civil Society, Technology Providers, NABARD,
KVK, DDU-GKY, RSETI and Financial Institutions to develop a common platform of knowledge around objective, product,
service, channel, use cases, financing, subsidy, and government policy
 User Workshops – Conducting workshops with Village Organisations and Cluster Level Federations of identified blocks in
coordination with UPSRLM on adoption, use cases, operations, financial linkages, subsidy, impact and service of DRE
 Content Development – Developing communication and training content related to products, benefits, use cases and
financial aspects relevant to the end users
 Team Building – Building a team of cluster co-ordinators for implementing various campaigns, on boarding and service
delivery operations in co-ordination of SRLM, Training Institutions, Financial Institutions and Technology Service Providers
