INTRODUCTION

 Today, our own country, the Philippines, is at the

verge of a great challenge brought by Covid-19
pandemic. Everything has changed starting from
living to education. Due to the pandemic situation
globally, all the colleges and universities were shifted
to online mode by their respective governments. No
one has the information on how long this pandemic
will remain, and hence the teaching method was
shifted to online mode.
 But amidst the global pandemic, education must go on.
According to Lagua (2020) , the education sector is one
of the sectors most affected by the crisis because of the
lockdowns it caused. As a result, the online learning
platform began to operate as the best way to pursue
one’s education.

 Study says this pandemic has brought a dilemma to

educational institutions especially when the government
announced and ordered not to open face to face classes
for Academic Year 2020-2021 until the Covid-19
vaccine is administered to everyone. The sudden shift to
online learning created a hot debate in the Philippines
citing the poor living conditions of the learners.
 Academically, while students can essentially learn anything online, learning

may be less than optimal particularly in courses like Hospitality Management,

which involve face to face contact and direct interactions (Franchi, 2020).

 Given the circumstances, the researchers will conduct this study to see how

problem in online learning such as skill execution, actual knowledge

acquisition, and industrial experience, affect student’s academic achievement

as measured by their General Weighted Average.
