INTRODUCTION

● In the last years, the production and sales of Electric Vehicles (Evs) have known an
important growth in many countries,This Evolution is to reduce the emission of CO2
based on many environmental studies
● Evs are considered as the best replacement of ICE vehicles in the future of
transportation . But the problem with them is that they have a limited range causes
range anxiety in owner The current technology allows as to get a 350-450 km range for
an electric vehicle.
● Another problem is with the charging station infrastructure and time required for
charging. As we all know time is money
● Inthe future more electric vehicles are seen on our roads. Countries like Norway has
already committed to requiring all new cars sold from 2025 are electric. So what is the
solution to the limited range and charging time of Evs ?
ON ROAD WIRLESS CHARGING OF EVs

● By this technology Evs are charged wirlessly by the principles of

electromagnetic induction.
● where by a electric charge is sent through thick condutor coils produce
current ant magnetic field generates current in the second coil Some
distance away.
● The primary coils is buried under the road and input supply is taken from
renewable energy sources like solar, wind etc.
● The secondary coil or reciver coil is mounted under the vehicle and
connected to the battery by control circuit.

COMPONATS USED

● Solar panel - as input supply for primary coil

● Primary coil. - For producing interacting flux with secondary coil
● 7805 IC –act as voltage regulator
● IR sensor – for sensing the vehicle on the road
● PIC (periferal interface controller) – controlling device
● Secondary coil -induces current by interacting with the fix from primary
● Rectifier. - convers AC into DC
● Driver IC - for controlling the Dc motor

● The ferit sheets are used for safeguarding the passenger compart from the interacting of
Eletrmagnetic waves,( ferrite sheet act a mirror )
APPLICATIONS
● At first this technology can be introduced to the charging of taxis (hve existing
infrastructure and easy impliment)
● Can be installed in bus stations
● Parking lotts of Apartments and supermarkets
● Installed in homes
● In the higher stages dynamic charging can be introduced to highways and other roads
( making entair roads into wirless charger is highly coastly and ineffective .therefor sepe
rate charging lines can be introduced
ADVANTAGES

1. Well Improves the range Evs

2. No need to stop for charging (Dynamic charging)
3. No need to plug-in or unplug
4. Eliminates the range anxiety of EV user
5. Can be more eco-friendly by using renewable energy sources
6. Dynamic charging enbale the car manufacturers to reduce the size of battery
pack there by improve the performance of vehicle
7. There is no need of seperate infrastructure for Input of primary coils ,Insted of
that ,can be directly connect to the existing grid System
DISADVANTAGES

1. Conversion of existing roads into charging roads is difficult

2. Efficiency is less when campared to normal plug-in charging
3. With current technology wired charging is more faster
4. Highly expencive Inthe case of dynamic charging
CURRENTLY Installed/Implimented

● Norway is the dominant contry uses the technology , A company named FORTUM from
Norway pruduses stationary wirless charger for taxis in Norway . Roads in capital citty
Oslo being converted into charging roads
● Onther comapny named ELECTREON from ISRAEL also look forward for this new
innovation
● Major car manufacturers like BMW ,JAGUUR,LAND ROVER etc provaids Stationary
wirless charging Pads for their electric cars
● QUALCOMM HALO is an another firm invests in this innovation
CONCLUSION

This seminar is all about to to introduce the new technology which allows cordless charging of
electric vehicles and it’s endless possibilities. However with the current technologies it has its
own disadvantages mainly coast wise and efficiency

If we can overcome the disadvantages of this technology . It would results in positvly in trantion
systems.Producing electricity is cheaper too with renewable options such as solar energy, wind
energy and thermal energy whereas petroleum is a fossil fuel which is not in abundance.

Companies such as Tesla, BMW and Chrysler are shifting focus from ICEs to Evs and thus
influencing the automotive industry. During this shift, newer technologies that make Evs
reliable and better than current generations of vehicles should be implemented so that they
become consumer friendly and Effective.
