Rationale
Mobile games is an application, were
players can communicate and have
bound with their friends online. It is a
social platform that connects people
through games. It is a community that
spans borders, interests, and languages.
With mobile games, anyone can play on
any devices such as phones, tablets or
computers. This online entertainment is
getting prominent for players, especially
the teens. It is good application for them
who aim to enhance their problem-
solving because for them, mobile
gaming improves their moods, boosts
their brain power and improves
concentration. But this application
could be destructive if not used
properly. Also, playing mobile games
can slow down your brain growth, and
it will negatively affects eyesight it can
also results to insomnia. That’s why we
should use it responsibly and properly.
Research Questions
This study specifically answers the
following questions:
• What happens to the gamer if
he/she gets addicted in playing
mobile games?
• What are the effects of playing
mobile games on the academic
performance of the respondents?
 Dennis & Jennifer (2017), stated
that Online gaming is one of the
widely used leisure activities by
many people. For some people it is
said that playing video games has a
number of reasons to be played, for
it can be a stress reliever, challenge
and competition, relaxation,
enjoyment, social interaction, and
even mentally escaping from the real
world.
 But students' learning takes place
unexpectedly, but the inappropriate
usage of playing online games also
leads in some problems such as
being distracted in school. Further, it
is where the attention of the child
were divided that even their health
and social life is unknowingly
affected.

This study used the survey
questionnaire to be distributed to the
respondents. Descriptive method of
research was used in this study with
the aid of standard questionnaire as a
tool in gathering the necessary data
needed for the study to be completed.
