Case Study: BHPBIO Yandi OHP1 | 3D Asset Management
Platform

Project Narrative
The BHPBIO Yandi OHP1 site team
required a 3D Asset Management
platform that could provide an
accurate ‘As Built’ hub and
powerful visualisation platform for
the site engineering and
maintenance teams. Due to the age
of the initial engineering and
detailing, there were no models
available. Many of the 2D
deliverables were not at an ‘As
Built’ status.

Results
Prior to the 3D model completion and implementation; • Out of date design information used for maintenance works
resulted in significant time delays and cost overruns. Access to
• A survey site team would spend up to one (1) hour locating
the As Built detail drawings mitigated this risk saving both
relevant and correct engineering information. After the
implementation of the intelligent 3D platform, this was reduced schedule time and re-work cost.
to five (5) minutes. • Rotable and replaceable spares (pipe spools, mechanical
equipment) can now be accurately fabricated off the 2D detailed
drawings.
