Introduction :-
Night vision technology
allows one to see in the dark,
even in moonless cloudy
Night.
Principle:-

Night vision technology’s principle is based on the

Amplification of existing low light.
• In this technique first light converted into the
electron by image intensifier tube.
• Then these electrons are amplified and after that ,
they are converted again into the visible light.
Types of Night Vision

There are two types of Night Vision:

Biological Night Vision

Technical Night Vision

• Image intensifier
• Thermal imaging
Image Intensifier

The image intensifier is a vacuum-tube based

device that converts invisible light from an image
to visible light so that a object in dark can be
viewed by a camera or the naked eye.

Thermal Imaging

The technology operates by capturing the upper

portion of infrared light which is emitted as heat
by objects instead of simply reflected as light.

Drawbacks :-
Lenses are very expensive.
The main drawback of Night Vision technology is that,
It can not detect the color of object.
 Lack of clarity.
 Need of additional power source
Applications :-

 Military
 Wildlife observation
 Security
 Hidden object detection
Conclusion :-

By using Night Vision Technology a solder and wild life

Observer can work efficiently during night and also
Shown how surveillance can be kept in low light
Condition but the application within the scientific or the
Civilian range is often prohibited by law.
