from the new coronavirus.
● During the recent Covid-19 pandemic, additive
Technology and Social Media were used to tackle
the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND LISTENING SOFTWARES
After covid-19 pandemic and because of quarintines and
curfew all over the world, an huge increase in the use of the
social media and its impact has been widely noticed.
• . The first 3D printers were invented from in the early 1980s. medical
applications for 3D printing are expanding rapidly and are expected to
revolutionize health care and were recently rising in the importance of
tackling the shortage of PPE’s in covid-19 pandemic.
• During ppe shortage crisis 3d printing saved the international increase in
the demands of ppe’s usage.

Representative PPE designs are illustrated such as Oxygen venturi valves, Hands free door handle
attachments, Printable face masks, Mask adjuster, Ventilators, Test swabs, Valve for Scuba masks,
Spirometry Sensors, Ventilator Splitter and Oxygen Filter Housings.

USES OF 3D PRINTING GLOBALLY
In USA there is an estimated amount of 444.000 printers, and the United
Kingdom has more than 168.000 printers, while Germany occupies the
3rd place in the world. It is the first time that the community of 3d printer
home users has come together and mass-produced PPE.
