Tribal Comunities
The people of Sikkim are warm, simple and friendly
with nature gaisty . In general , they are known as
Sikkimese is a state of diverse communities ,
cultures , religions and customs. Sikkimhas a good
mechanism of living harmony in between people of
the states . It is a good example of Indian “Unity in
Diversity”. There are three main communities in
Sikkim – Lepchas , Bhutias and Nepalese and also
many people are migrant to Sikkim , from overall
India ( likely Marwari , Biharis , Bengali , South
Indians ,
Punjabis , etc ) and Nepal . They are of roads , bridges ,
buildings etc , have informally invited migrant labories
from the plains and Nepal . A few thousand Tibetan
Refuges are there who settled well in Sikkim.
The Lepchas
The Lepchas were said to be the original inhibital of Sikkim the
migration of the Bhutias and Nepalese . The word “ lepcha”
means the ravine folk dance . They were belived in bone faiyh or
mune faith based on the sprits , good and bad . They used the
workship spirits of mountains , good and forests like any other
tribes . Perhaps , this could be the natural world . The Lepchas
( zongu ) folklore is rick or . Christanty Near about yo 14 percent
of the population of Sikkim . This
are encomprises the confluence of lachen and laching
rivers and dickche .
The Bhutias
The Bhutias are origanlly belongs to the Tibetan origin . After
the 15 the century , these people migrated to Sikkim . Mainly
they are settled on the Northen part of Sikkim , are known us
the lachenpas and lachungpas . The Bhutias speak ‘ Sikkimese’
langueages , dialet of the Tibetan language . If compared with
the lepchas , the bhotias are dominantly large number of
villages .
The Nepalese
The Nepalese appeared on the Sikkim after the Lepcha &
Bhutias . They migrated in large numbers and soon became the
dominant community . In the present day , the Nepalese
constitute 70 % of the Total population of Sikkim . They
introduce commenced tterrace farming in the state . Cardmom
is an important cash crop that was cultivated by the Nepalese .
Expect for the sherpas & Tamangas who are orthihodos Hindus
with the usyual cast system and
tribes like Banwas (brhamans) Chhetries , Gurungs ,
Tamangs , Rais , Limbus , Margars , Damas ,Kamis
etc . These people speak language that iis similar to
Hindi and is understood thought the state of Sikkim .
