Kill bacteria through the inhibition of the Bacterial DNA gyrase

activity prevent the replication of bacterial DNA.
 
Levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, is the levorotatory component of ofloxacin, a racemic mixture.
It is highly active in vitro against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including Legionella
pneumophila, S. aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, salmonellae and others.
