This document discusses different types of forces. It begins by defining force and explaining that force can cause changes in motion or state of rest. It then outlines several types of forces including pulling/pushing, centripetal/centrifugal, magnetic, gravitational, frictional, and electrostatic forces. Each force is defined and examples are provided of how it affects motion or objects.

THE TOPICS- 1. Force – Its effects. 2. Types of force- Pulling & Pushing, Centripetal & Centrifugal, Magnetic, Gravitational, Frictional, Electrostatic Force. FORCE Force is an external agency that changes or tends to change the state of a body from rest to motion or from motion to rest. The SI unit of force is Newton(N) We use force to do different types of work. Different types of force are used for different purpose. EFFECTS OF FORCE The main effects of force are as follows: 1. Force changes the state of a body from motion to rest or from rest to motion. 2. Force changes the direction of the motion of a body. 3. Force changes the shape & size of a body. TYPES OF FORCE Force is of various types. Some of them are as follows: Pulling & Pushing Force Centripetal & Centrifugal Force Magnetic Force Gravitational Force Frictional Force Electrostatic Force. Pulling & Pushing Force The force that push or tends to push a body is called pushing force. The force that pull or tends to pull a body is called pulling force. Centripetal & Centrifugal Force The force which pushes bodies away from the centre is centrifugal force The force which pulls bodies towards the centre is centripetal force Centripetal & Centrifugal Force Magnetic Force Magnetic Force is a force that attracts certain metal objects (like iron and iron filings) towards a magnet. Gravitational Force The force between any two objects in the universe is called gravitational force. Frictional Force The force that always acts to resist the motion of one body sliding on another is called frictional force. Electrostatic Force The electrostatic force is an attractive and repulsive force between particles are caused due to their electric charges.
