Filter Separator Discharge Valve

Functions & Features

• The Filter Separator (Slug) Valve

works in conjunction with the
Filter Separator and prevents
water from entering the
downstream line.

• This pilot (float) control system is

mounted directly to the filter
separator. It senses the amount
of water in the sump and shuts
down the valve flow when excess
amounts of water are present
800 Series Separator Pilots

The Pilot control can be configured to work with

various models of filter separators.

Design Features
800 block is used on all OCV separator float
assemblies.
Float counterweighted to sink in fuel, but float in
water, thus riding the interface between water and
fuel in the filter separator sump.
Stainless Steel construction with Viton® seals.
Resilient seating resists leakage.
Four port/three-position control to actuate slug
valve, and/or water drain.
Maximum working pressure 300 psi.
All manufactured with Manual Testers.
Available with Weighted Manual Tester
Side or Bottom Mounted models
Additional Capabilities & Functions

Rate of Flow Control (OCV 119-5)

• Prevents downstream discharge of water (slug control).

• Limits flow to maximum rating of filter separator
(adjustable).
• Includes adjustable opening speed control.

ROF + Backflow Prevention (OCV 119-15)

• All features of 119-5
• Adds reverse flow prevention

ROF with Solenoid Shutoff(OCV 119-580)

• All the features of 119-5
• Electrically operated solenoid allows valve to open
(control flow rate) or shut-off (close)
• Electronic Interface probe signals the solenoid.
Model 120-1 Rate of Flow Control / Solenoid Shut-off

• Controls or limits flow rate to a

predetermined maximum.
• Electrically operated solenoid
allows valve to open (control flow
rate) or shut-off (close)
• Electronic Interface probe
signals the solenoid.
• Flow rate is adjustable with
single screw.

Content

· Update letter EI

· New Type S-M

· Standardized element for 2“ (50 mm)

26
Update EI letter

27
Update EI letter

• No changes in the nomenclature(e.g. P.x-

xxxx or CAAXXX-5 or I-6XXC5) of
manufacturers
• Operational data plate will be changed to
comply with EI 1581 6th ed

28
New Type S-M

• Type S-M FWSs shall only be used for into-

aircraft applications! (Only horizontal vessels)
• Minimal amounts of dirt and minimal amounts
of water!
• No solids-holding capacity criteria. Solids
dosage (19 mg/l) until 155 kPa (D45min.P) and
continue for 45 minutes (not below 138 kPa!)

29
New Type S-M

• Deletion of Type S-LD (Low dirt)

• EI 1581 5th ed. Type S-LW systems also qualify
as EI 1581 6th ed. Type S-M systems!
• 2“ and 4“ coalescer included

30
2“ coalescer flow rates

2“ coalescer 30“ long

Category C Type S-M = 110 l/min

Category M Type S-M = 83 l/min

31
2“ coalescer end caps

32
2“ coalescer lengths

33
2” Coalescer advantages

• Vessel weight (in comparsion to horizontal C-

S-LW)!

• Low sump volume (12 l/4180 l/min).

• Overall Dimensions (in comparsion to

standard horizontal FWS )!

• Easy installation of coalescer elements

36
Conclusion

• 6th ed. EI 1581 is out and available

• No changes to 5th ed. EI 1581 qualification

• New categories C-SM and M-SM
• New vessel smaller and lighter than
standard FWS
