Abrasives :-
 These are also known as polishing agents.
 It is used to remove debris and residual strains from teeth surface
 Commonly used abrasives are precipitated calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate
calcium pyrophosphate, magnesium trisilicate and hydrated alumina etc.

Binders :-
 These are used to keep the solids and liquids in the united form and to maintain the
consistency.
 Commonly used are Gum tracgacanth, sodium alginate, methyl cellulose, etc.
