 Selaparang kingdom was built by sayyid zulqarnain or syaikh Abdurrahman,

Islam in Lombok was first brought by missionaries from Baghdad namely ghaus
abdurrazak
 Ghaus Abdurrazzaq married a princess from the Sasak Kingdom and gave birth
to two children, namely Sayyid Zulqarnain or known as Shaykh Abdurrahman
and a daughter named Syarifah Lathifah who was nicknamed Denda Rabi'ah.
Sayyid Zulqarnain was the one who founded the Selaparang Kingdom and
became the first king with the title of Datu Selaparang or Sultan Rinjani
 .
The heyday of slaparang

 Selaparang Kingdom is a formidable kingdom it was succeeded in expelling

the Dutch who wanted to enter the area around 1667-1668.
many historians say, that after being moved, the Selaparang Kingdom
experienced rapid progress. Selaparang Kingdom could expand its power to West
Sumbawa. It is also mentioned that a young king named Sri Dadelanatha, was
inaugurated with the title of dewa meraja in West Sumbawa because at that
time (1630 AD) this area was still included in the territory of the Selaparang
Kingdom. Then continued by the next generation, which was around November
30, 1648 AD, the crown prince of Selaparang named Prince Pemayaman with the
title Peman Aji Komala, was inaugurated in Sumbawa to become Sulthan
Selaparang who ruled the entire island of Lombok and Sumbawa.

 At the beginning of the 15th century, many immigrant farmers from Karang
Asem (Bali), which gradually made colonies in the area of the current Mataram
city, which eventually grew into a small kingdom called Pagutan and
Pagesangan around 1622.which appeared after the raid of the gelgel kingdom
Then came the Dutch nation where they made military expansion, at that time
one of the officials from the Selaparang Kingdom, Arya Banjar Getas, had a
dispute with the king about the border between Selaparang and Pejanggik. Arya
Banjar Getas and his followers then decided to leave Selaparang and join a
military expedition to the Mataram Kingdom of Karang Asem (Bali) which by that
time had successfully landed in West Lombok.
lalu dengan segala taktiknya arya banjar getas dan kerajaan mataram karang
asem berhasil menaklukkan kerajaan selaparang sehingga kerajaan karang asem
menjadi penguasa tunggal di lombok
