A.1 Authority for the Survey


This Security Survey at Midas Hotel & Casino was conducted per instruction
of Philippine Society of Industrial Security (PSIS) Director, Mr. Sebastian M.
Puache, CSP, in compliance with the requirement given by the PSIS International
for Certified Security Professional (CSP) Class 590 dated on February 18, 2022.

Mission of Installation

Midas Hotel & Casino is a hotel that caters to local and foreign
tourists accommodating official and special events, conferences and
others, with its casino for those who intends to experience its awesome
word-class games.
 
The Security Survey and Inspection at Midas aims to observe
overall area situation, to ascertain internal and external strengths, and
more importantly to discover weaknesses, vulnerabilities, potential risks
and threats associated to facilities in general, amenities and client
services, human resources, document and information management
among others, and give recommendations to establish effective security
measures thereof
Objectives

• To assess and analyze the existing security measures being


implemented by Midas hotel and its vicinity.

• To assist the establishment of systems, procedures and safeguards to


protect subject facility, personnel and activities from threats and inimical
acts of espionage, subversion, sabotage and intrusion of criminals.

• To determine the requirements for establishing the highest level of


security management practices through dynamic safety and security
systems, operational procedures.
Objectives

• To analyze all counter-intelligence factors influencing the security of the


installation, and to determine the appropriate measures required to cope
with the sensitivity or criticality of the installation.

• To provide recommendations which will invigorate robust measures


based on the required safety and security standards.

• To identify and recommend effective and suitable technologies which will


enhance the security of the personnel and the hotel.

All security clearances of


security personnel must be approved
by the Security Manager.

Those with appropriate


security clearances are the only
authorize personnel that can access to
classified information and documents.

They are implementing the


“Need to Know” scheme.

Recommendation

Security manager must be ensure that those


personnel that were granted security clearance to
access classified information or documents are
covered with appropriate documents such as
directives or orders. It will be also advisable to
required them to renew it every year after conducting
security and records check.
D. Security Education Program

Situation as Surveyed
Based on their program, Security
Personnel must undergo different trainings
such as Bomb Identification, Customer
Service, Disaster Management and
Firearms Familiarization. However,
because of the pandemic the target was
not fully attained.

Some employees of Midas have not


undergone yet any Security Education
Training and Awareness seminar. Also, the
outsourced security personnel have
already attended a seminar related to the
same.
D. Security Education Program

Recommendation

During this time of pandemic, security personnel should


adopt on a online/blended learning in order to meet the
academic and training needs of security personnel. The use of
information and communication technology has converted the
entire teaching education to a learner centered training.
D. Morale of Employees

Security personnel are entitled with


free lunch for day shift and free dinner for
night shift. They are also given cash
incentive and other necessary benefits.

For those security personnel with


commendable performance, they were
given appropriate recognition and
appreciation to keep them always in high
morale

Recommendation

Continue the best practices of company and program


the conduct morale and discipline survey with security
personnel monitor their status.

It is also a best practice to check the welfare and


health condition of their family specially this time of
pandemic.
D. Absentees Rate & Labor Turn-Over

Situation as Surveyed

Midas has/has no record of


absenteeism. It has an average
absentee rate of __% per month.
According to the HR Division, an
average of ___% turnover of
employees per month for the year
2021.

Recommendation

Midas should take note that involuntary turnover


comprising of layoffs and termination of employees has
more negative impact to the company than the voluntary
one of which outgoing employees signify seeking better
career opportunities outside. Because, involuntary
turnover reflects the low employee satisfaction over
work.
