OVERVIEW OF
WORK MEASUREMENT

 Work measurement
• Involves the estimation of the amount of human
effort needed to produce a unit of a specified
output from an operation
 Work standard
• The amount of time that is taken by a well-trained
worker, operating under normal working
conditions, to produce one unit of a specified
output from an operation.

TYPES OF ALLOWANCES

Allowances
Break times (extra time) given to employees to
attend to personal needs, such as a lunch break or
tea/coffee break, etc., with the purpose of
overcoming tiredness or fatigue.
