ABOUT TESLA
• Tesla was founded in 2003 by Elon Musk and group of engineers.
• Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a
zero-emission future, the better.

• Tesla designed the world’s first ever premium all-electric sedan from the ground
up- Model S - which has become the best car in its class in every category.

• In 2015, Tesla expanded its product line with- Model X - , the safest, quickest and
most capable sport utility vehicle in history.

• Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

ALL THE INNOVATIONS BY TESLA
BEYOND ELECTRIC CARS

•Powerwall :- Powerwall is an integrated battery system developed

by Tesla, which stores solar energy for backup protection and reduces
reliance on the grid.

•Solar Roof :- Tesla’s Solar Roof tiles

are the first of its kind product in the
market. Its solar roof tiles are more
than thrice stronger than standard
roofing tiles and are engineered for all-
weather protection.
• Solar Panels :- Tesla Solar Panels
can be mounted on existing roofs
with a minimal aesthetic, converting
sunlight to energy. It comes with a
25 years warranty. The team takes
care of any necessary permits and
installations once you order its solar
panels.

• Megapack :- Tesla Megapack is

transforming how we power the grid
delivering giga-scale capacity,
enabling the world’s largest energy
projects.
• Tesla Gigafactory :- In a bid to
accelerate the world’s shift to sustainable
energy through increasingly affordable
electric vehicles and energy
products, Tesla is planning to ramp
production to 5 lakh cars per year.

• Electric vehicles charging

stations:- While the demand for
electric vehicles continues to rise,
setting up charging infrastructure
has become paramount. Tesla is
currently leading the race by
developing state-of-the-art chargers
to power its electric vehicles.
TESLA - CHALLENGES FOR 2021
1.
Production deadline – This is, by far, the biggest hurdle. By setting highly ambitious production
goals, Elon Musk has succeeded in making headlines and getting investors excited, but this also
means that if Tesla struggles to meet its goal of delivering 500,000 thousand vehicles this year, it
could be in trouble.
2.
Managing spending – Tesla has burned through cash before and fast around $1 billion per quarter.
True, a lot of this cash is invested in potentially profitable projects such as the battery gigafactory,
and yet, this level of spending leaves the company in a tight spot.
3.
Keeping the personnel stable – There have been major executive walkouts from the company,
including some members of the finance team. There are also questions regarding Elons Musk's
ongoing role. This is not something investors like to hear during challenging times.
4.
Dealing with competition – Many of the leading brands in the auto industry are finally investing
big in electric vehicles. Tesla’s luxury vehicles already face major competition from vehicles such as
the Chevy Bolt, and when more affordable cars appear, the impact could be substantial.
5.
Keeping investors happy – After skyrocketing by over 280% in 2021 so far by late July, it has
been more of an incredible ride for Tesla shares, with its price increasing despite ongoing unrest.
The company may hold its investors trust, but it will need to produce further results to win
investors’ lasting trust.
6.
Coronavirus Pandemic – The long shadow of Covid-19 is felt everywhere. With business stoppages
a result of the application of lockdowns in the state of California, Musk has threatened to flout
lockdown rules and go back to work. He has publicly considered relocating from California to a
state more favourable to his business concerns. Furthermore, the impact on demand and the risks
involved in production continue to compile concerns.

Go Anywhere
Travel farther on a single charge than any
other electric vehicle and keep going with
access to 25,000+ Superchargers globally.
By combining up to 405 miles of
estimated range with Tesla fast charging
technology, you’ll spend less time
charging and even more time on the road.

• Safety
High Impact Protection
Model S is built from the ground up as
an electric vehicle, with a high-strength
architecture and floor-mounted battery
pack for incredible occupant protection
and low rollover risk. Every Model S
includes Tesla’s latest active safety
features, such as Automatic Emergency
Braking, at no extra cost.
• Autopilot
Future of driving
Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within
its lane under your active supervision, assisting with the most burdensome
parts of driving. With over-the-air software updates, the latest enhancements
are available instantly.

experience at home or on the road.
IMPROVEMENTS
• Tesla has been the only hugely successful EV manufacturer in the US, but it's not what
we would call affordable. The upcoming Model 3 will help bring EV technology
downmarket, but the other affordable EVs like the Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf haven't
inspired as much excitement. Until EV models are cheaper than their gas engined
equivalents, they will never take over the market.

• Longevity One of the big problems with EVs is their short lifespan. If the car is driven in a
harsh climate than the car's battery may need to be replaced after few years. Tesla needs
to find a way to build EV models that have a longer lifespan that can be updated with
future technology which won't result in the car becoming useless so quickly.

• Longer range has been the most important factor that influences people's decision to buy
an electric car. Tesla changed the game with cars that could go well over 320 Km on a
single charge, but this still doesn't solve a big problem with EVs. Anyone who wants to
take a long road trip will have a much easier time using a gas engined car.

• Battery Swapping One of the problems with EVs is that they take too long to charge. This
has been partially fixed by Tesla, with its network of supercharger stations that can
charge around 50 percent of the battery in 20 minutes. This is still too long, and we think
that the solution is battery swapping. This would involve building a battery that can be
swapped out with a fully charged unit in a matter of minutes.
