Variables:

Variables are things which are controlled and measured as


part of a scientific experiment. There are three main types
of variables:
Independent variable
Dependent Variable
Control Variable
Independent variable: One
thing that you change in an
investigation!
Dependent Variable: Factor
that we measure or observe in
an investigation!
Control Variable:
• Experiments also have controlled variables. Controlled variables are
quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant

• The independent variable in your experiment would be: the brand of
paper towel.
• The dependent variable would be :the amount of liquid absorbed by a
paper towel.
