Axially loaded column
• Axially Loaded Column -The compressive
vertical loads act along the centroidal axis of
the column.
• Axially Loaded Column also know as internal
column.
• Load acting at center of the column.
• Beam length - all side are equal.
Uniaxial loaded column
• Uniaxial loaded column - When the loads are
acting at a distance ‘ e’ from the centroid of
the column cross-section
• Beam length – 2 side equal ,another 2 side
unequal.
• Load acting at any one axis (x or y).
Biaxially loaded column
• Biaxially loaded column - the loading causes
bending simultaneously about both principal
axes.
• Load acting at both axis (x and y)
• Beam length - Adjacent 2 sides are unequal.
• Corner columns 2 beam are connected and
another 2 ends are free
