portion of input waveform
• four types-positive clipper, negative
clipper, biased clipper and combinational
clipper
• Positive clipper removes removes
positive half of input waveform

biased and no current flows and no
output
• During negative half cycle diode is
forward biased and current flows and
there is output.
• Removes positive portion of waveform

forward biased and current flows and

• During negative half cycle diode is
reverse biased and no current flows and
no output.
• Removes negative portion of waveform
