Presenting
about Snow

3
SNOW FORMATION

• Snow is a crystalline form of

water, whose smaller structure
is ice crystals when the
temperature is low enough and
the water vapor moisture is high
enough to convert from vapor-
liquid-solid phases.

4
SNOW CHARACTERISTICS

• Snow most frequently appears white, have varicolored depend on its environments
• Weight: 0.1 - 0.8 g / cm³
• Temperature: below 0°C
• Basically, it's actually a water , It feels like wet sand when we touch but colder

80 DIFFERENT SHAPES

•The shapes of snowflakes are influenced by
the temperature and humidity of the
atmosphere. Snowflakes form in the
atmosphere when cold water droplets freeze
onto dust particles. The resulting ice crystals
will grow into a myriad of different shapes.

SNOW CLASSIFICANT
BY THE TIME

it has fallen for less it snows more than snow is old but thawed snow at least 1 year
than 3 days  3 days and freezes into a layer on –old
the surface, freezing snow

New snowfall Old snow Ice Glacier

11
ACCORDING TO THE HUMIDITY

dry snow, not sticking together mixture of water and broken squeezing it into water ,heavy
under the effect of pressure snow and snow stuck together under
pressure

Snow Powder Bad snow Wet snow

13
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
OF SNOW
14
ADVANTAGES

Creates a cold temperate zone

Attract tourists

entertainment centre and ski-snow

the cold-zone fauna and flora make biodiversity

15
16
• cause cold death to some animals , affect
the ecosystem
• parched due to lack of water, because the
snow doesn't melt
DISADVANTAGES
• Recently, in USA , Blizzard struck 14 states,
more than 60 million people affected,
traffic jams
