of citizens

Introduction
Some of the duties are enlisted as
fundamental duties of every Indian citizens
as per the 42 'nd amendment to the
Constitution part IV A and article 51 A
Definition:

The fundamental duties are defined as the


moral obligations of all citizens to help
promote a spirit of patriotism and to uphold
the unity of India
Features of fundamental duties

To abide by the Constitution


and respect it's ideals and
institutions, the National Flag
and the National Anthem
To cherish and follow the nobles
ideals which inspired our
national struggle for freedom
To uphold and protect the
sovereignty, unity and integrity
of India
To defend the country and
render national service when
called upon to do so
To value and preserve the rich
heritage of our composite culture
To promote harmony and
the spirit of common
brotherhood amongst all
the people of India
transcending religious
To protect and improve the
natural environment including
forest lakes rivers and wildlife,
and to have compassion for
living creatures.
To develop the scientific tempor
humanism and the spirit of
inquiry and reform
To safeguard public property
and to abjure violence
To provide opportunities for
education by the parent or
guardian to his child or a ward
between the ages 6 to 14 years as
the case may be
Merits:
Being a citizen of india we have some moral
responsibilities and duties , we must respect our
national anthem and national flag

It's help to the citizens to discharge their duties


which are expected to be done by them

It's help to safeguard public property and pay


taxes with honesty etc

It is important to understand that the Democratic


system and the basic rights and duties of every
citizens
Demerits:

This article doesn't contain many other


important duties for example the duty to
vote in election, paying tax on time etc

Many of the duties are not defined properly


and are ambiguous in nature
Conclusion:

We have to know about every aspect


ofof fundamental duties and we can
clearly understand the need and
importance of fundamental duty.

The citizens of our country play a vital


role in achieving the basic aim of our
Constitution.
