Germany by five former IBM
employees, Dietmar Hopp,
Hasso Plattner, Hans-Werner
Hector, Klaus Tschira, and
Claus Wellenreuther. 
Starting with one customer and a
handful of employees, SAP set out
on a path that would alter the way
companies do business. Now after
50 years SAP has more than
400,000 customers & is stronger
than ever,  ERP 6.0 was released in 2016.
They had a vision for the
business potential of
technology of creating a
standard application software
for real-time business
processing. 
Since its inception SAP has issued
several releases, such as SAP R/1,
SAP R/2, and SAP R/3. The latest
version of SAP ERP (V. 6.0) was made
available in 2006. The most recent
SAP enhancement package 8 for SAP

 SAP stands for Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing. 

 SAP is a software for the management of business processes, developing
solutions that facilitate effective data processing and information flow
across organizations. 
 SAP's objective is to create positive economic, environmental, and social
impact within planetary boundaries with special focus on climate action,
circular economy, social responsibility, and holistic steering and reporting.
 Christian Klein leads the company, heads up the Executive Role of SAP SE,
and, at 41, is the youngest CEO of any major enterprise on Germany’s DAX
blue chip market index.
