METHODOLOGICAL PROCESS
• The researcher used qualitative methodology. 

• He make use of references to other authors to make his own interpretations and analysis on
Education as process and development.

• This article is a continuation of what has been discovered in chapter 3. Where the author took us
through two models which he used to analyse what happens when either of the tow models are
used in curriculum planning. Thus, the author uses this study to explore another model (3rd model)
to outline if whether its format for curriculum planning meets unique purposes that are different
from the two models in chapter 3 or not.

• The author expands his idealistic view on this model (curriculum as process and as development)
quite elegantly in this article, with plenty of references to other authors to get his point across. 
STRENGHTS WEAKNESSES

SUGGESTIONS IN WHICH THE RESEARCHER
COULD HAVE IMPROVED THEIR STUDY

• The article focuses on pupil development and tends to isolate the society in its planning,
due to this imbalance the argument can aim to bridge the gap of pupil development in
relation to his/her society. 

• The study completely ignores the implications of the political terrain to curriculum
planning therefore the study could have looked at the implications of the political domain
in society and thus in curriculum development.

• The author could have to use more models or ideologies in his article regarding
curriculum planning and contrasted them with these 3 ideologies in order to aid his
argument , to ensure that a sufficient level of details about curriculum planning is
included so that as readers/ potential researchers we are able to draw the same or similar
conclusions.
APPLICATION OF IDEOLOGIES MADE
IN THE ARTICLE TO OWN RESEARCH
• Curriculum requires a holistic approach when addressing issues
pertaining to it. 

• When considering what knowledge should be taught and what


knowledge should be distributed and the rules that govern teaching
that subject - one shouldn't only focus on policy but should also be
very cognisant of the audience.
