ASSESSMENT
Meaning

➢ Is an assessment activity or set of


activities that requires students to 2
generate products or performances that
provide direct or indirect evidence of
their knowledge, skills, and abilities in
academic content domain.
Nature of PA

1. It is AA, it includes performance tasks


that are meaningful and realistic.

what they want to know and how well they
can do what they know.

process of evaluating their own and their
peers’ performance and output.

➢ Product-Based Assessment

Visual Products - Charts, illustrations, graphs ,


collages, murals, maps, time flows, diagrams, 6

posters, advertisements, video presentations, art


exhibits.

Kinesthetic Products - diorama, puzzles,


games, sculpture, exhibits, dance recital.

Written Products - journal, diaries, logs,


reports, abstract, letters, position papers,
poems, story, movie/Tv scripts, portfolio, essays, 7

article report, research papers, thesis.

Verbal Products - audio tapes, debates,


lectures, voice recording.

➢ Process-Based Assessment

Oral Presentations/ Demonstrations - paper


presentation, poster presentation, individual or 8

group presentation on the assign topic, skills


demonstration such as baking, teaching,
problem solving.

Creative Performances - recital, poetry


interpretation, role playing, playing musical
instruments.

Public Speaking - debates, mock trial,

Athletic Skills Demonstration - playing


basketball, baseball and other sports.

Example:
Intended Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course,
students should be able to: perform dance routines and
creatively combine variations with rhythm ,
coordination, correct footwork technique, frame,
facial and body expression.

Teaching-Learning Activities: Lecture, class discussion, 12

movement exercises, dance demonstration, actual


dancing with teacher and partners, collaborative learning.

Performance Assessment Tasks: Culminating dance


class recitals, practical test for each type of dance,
reflection papers, peer evaluation rating.
