    WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC COMMUNICATION?

    Therapeutic communication is defined as the face to face process of interaction that


    focuses on advancing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

    As a nurse takes the patient’s vital signs, it will be better a nurse says what she is going
    to do, explain why she is doing it and gives the patient feedback.
    VOCABULARY

    • Pulse rate : Jumlah denyutan


    • Rhythm of regularity : Irama denyutan
    • Tension or compressibility : Ketegangan
    • Beats per minutes : Denyutan per menit
    • Patient’s chart : Lembar (penilaian) pasien
    • Normal pulse rhythm : Irama denyutan
    • Bradycardia: Denyut nadi dewasa di bawah 60 beats/min
    • Tachycardia: Denyut nadi dewasa di atas 100 beats/min
    • Bounding : Lompatan denyut nadi yang kuat
    • Thready/weak : Denyut nadi yang semakin menurun
