QUIZIZZ

By: Aaliyah D. Jones

o Quizizz is an effective game-based
learning platform that allows
students in grades kindergarten to
twelfth grade to prepare for a quiz
or test. Teachers often utilize this
app within the classroom for
students to interact and compete
with classmates in a fun way or to
assign a test for students to
complete asynchronously as a
formative assessment. Furthermore,
teachers can often share or
collaborate on tests and material
created by other educators.

CLASSROOM INTEGRATION
IDEAS
• Early childhood teachers can integrate Quizizz into the
classroom for students in kindergarten to second grade by
allowing the children to form groups and help one another
prepare for a test by reviewing information together rather than
individually. To make this formative assessment fun for students
in these grade levels, teachers can reward the top two or three
groups who answer the most questions correctly or the whole
class with a prize from a treasure chest.
• Third-grade to twelfth-grade instructors can incorporate
Quizizz by assigning a practice quiz for the children to take in-
class individually on their class laptops or iPads. After every
student completes the practice quiz, the teacher can review the
questions with the students together as a class to ensure every
student understands the concepts before the actual quiz or test.
FEATURES
o The top image is a feature within Quizizz that gives teachers the ability to print
a class report and view how many students in the class answered a question
correctly or incorrectly. The green zero represents the number of students who
answered a specific question correctly while the red zero symbolizes the
number of students who answered a question incorrectly. This is significant as
this serves as feedback for instructors to determine whether or not they will
need to review or rediscuss a concept or topic before students take a quiz or
test.
oThe bottom image is one of the most popular features in Quizizz. When a
teacher creates a quiz or searches for a quiz that they would like to share with
their students, they can select from two options: start a live quiz or assign
homework. The "Start a live quiz" allows teachers to post a code on their
Promethean boards in the classroom for all the students to join on their laptops,
cell phones, or another technological device. The "Assign homework" option
allows instructors to assign a quiz for students to practice to receive as a
homework grade through Google Classroom or through the quiz access code to
email to students to take at their own convenience.
