What is Media Music?

▪ Media Music is a commonly used term to describe music specifically


written for use in film, tv production, commercials, radio, gaming,
corporate videos the internet and more.

▪ From the development of radio to the rise of streaming services, music


has been at the centre of technological and social change.

▪ We should not forget that music has been an important part of human
society for thousands of years. It has been a carrier for ideas, culture, and
innovation.
Music in the Media

▪ Music has been a part of human life for centuries and is often seen as
one of the most important. From ancient times, music was used to keep
time and aid in religious rituals, to communicate with spirits. Today,
music is widely used in advertising, marketing, movies, and television
programs.

▪ Music is very important in media backgrounds as it can create moods, set


scenes, and depict the emotions of characters.
Examples of Media Music?

▪ Films- Harry Potter, Pirates and the Caribbean, Star-Wars

▪ TV Shows- Coronation Street, Big-Bang Theory, Late-Late Show, Fair-City

▪ Gaming- Call-of-Duty, Super Mario, Angry Birds

▪ Advertising- McDonalds, Flash, Just-Eat, Christmas Adverts (John Lewis)

▪ Radio Stations- Radio Kerry, Spin-South West, Today-FM
