DATA ANALYTICS
01
OBJECTIVES
Academic Performance of Grade 10- Sikatuna Students of Aleosan National
High School for School Year 2020-2021 in Modular Distance Learning

Objectives:

This data analytics aims to compare the academic performance of Grade 7- Sikatuna
students of Aleosan National in the First Quarter and Second Quarter of School Year
2020-2021. This would tell if there is statistical difference on the academic
performance of students in the two different grading periods wherein in the first
grading period the self-learning modules were utilized while on the second grading
period self-learning modules and learning activity sheets were used by the learners.
This would help the administrators and teachers to determine when and how the
students learn best especially in the modular learning modality.
02
JUSTIFICATION
This data analytics is interesting since this would give
teachers an idea especially those schools which are utilizing the
self-learning modules and learning activity sheets to target
learners’ style in the distant learning modalities.
This data analytics is relevant; the result will serve as a guide
for teachers whether to utilize only self-learning modules of to
use self-learning modules and learning activity sheets in
delivering teaching-learning process to learners.
In the emergence of Covid-19 pandemic, the
educational system in the country has been
affected. The face-to-face classes is become
limited, and distance learning become the option of
the educators just to pursue the continuous
learning.

RESEARCH QUESTION
Research Question

Is there significant difference between the students’

academic performance in English for First Quarter and
Second Quarter?
04
NULL HYPOTHESIS
Null Hypothesis

There is no significant difference between

academic performance between the students’
academic performance for the First Quarter and
Second Quarter.

DATA COLLECTION
Data Collection

The data is taken from the academic performance

of students based on the grading sheets in the first and
second quarter of School Year 2020-2021. The data is
from the thirty-nine students enrolled in English subject
of Grade 10-Sikatuna of Aleosan National High School,
Aleosan, Cotabato.

ANALYTICAL METHOD
Analytical Method
The Paired Samples t Test was used in
this data analytics which compares the academic
performance of Grade 10- Sikatuna students in
the First Quarter, which only Self-Learning
Modules were utilized and Second Quarter which
Self-Learning Modules and Learning Activity
Sheets were used by the students.

AUDIENCE/IMPLICATION OF
THE STUDY
Audience/Implication of the Study
The result of this data analytics would be of great
help to the Department of Education which they can
design a plan for the modular distance learning
approach. For the administrators and teachers to adapt
various strategies which make the modular distance
learning more interesting to learners. For students, to

RECOMMENDATIONS

Recommendations
Department of Education. They must plan and design strategies that
ensures learning of learners in a distant learning.

Administrators and Teachers. The production of Self-Learning Modules

must be accompanied with the Learning Activity Sheets that would
make the materials power sheets not just busy sheets.

Students. The Self-Learning Modules that were distributed must be read

and analyzed for them to answer the different activity sheets given.
Thanks!
