Self and the Social Network
Social Networking
1. Don’t share personal details or be cautious in sharing personal

number

so that you can control the information that you will be sharing.

about your past work and employer.

Social networks may help us a lot, but we cannot deny the fact that
there are also some disadvantages of using it. Although everyone has the
right to establish linkage to social networks, each one must be responsible
and set limitations in using it. We should use it wisely, responsibly and
intelligently. Social networks are not for self-validation (the feeling of
having recognized, confirmed, or established one’s self own worthiness or
legitimacy-Webster) through the reactions from other people. We must
know our worth and established our self-esteem. Knowing what is real and
expected will help us to uplift our self whatever comments or reactions
that we will be receiving in social media or networks where we belong. The
use of social networks by anybody whatever stage of life, must be governed
by the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or the Republic Act.No.10175.
