The Death Tournament

Once upon a time, there was

a 15-year-old boy called Tom.
He has never been obedient &
he never listened to his
parents’ words. He always liked
to do dangerous things. Even
when it happened for him to be
hurt, he continued to expose
himself to dangers.
 The Add..

One day, Tom saw an advertisement

on the internet. It talked about a
virtual reality computer game.
There was a competition. All the
players in the game will feel as if in a
forest, surrounded by wild animals,
insects and snakes. There will be
100 players. Only one player could
survive to the end of the
competition or the (tournament).
 Fight for your life.. Beat the
wild forest.. All the beasts &
monsters of the wild can not
beat you.. Don’t forget.. There
must be only ONE winner..
ONE who will survive.
 The Prize..

So, in order to win, you must not

only protect yourself from
animals, but also KILL the other
players .. (in the game of course).
The prize was 20,000 dollars.
Tom liked the idea very much. He
decided to take part. Did he tell
his parent? The answer was No.
• He thought, “I will play and win, my parents
will be very happy with the prize money. They
will be proud of me”
• Tom applied online. On the date for the game,
he went to the address mentioned in the
advertisement

 The Cyber..
Tom had expected to see a normal cyber, with play station
devices, equipped with virtual reality cameras.
When he went there, the place was strange, there was a big
hall that looked like a lab, full of screens and great computers.
He was received by a mysterious looking man, who led him
inside.
 The Cyber..
• Inside, there were a number of other people. They had also
read the advertisement and came to take part. Tom knew
one of them. He was called Mike. Mike was also a very
powerful gamer. Tom was afraid that Mike would win the
tournament.
 Instructions…
• Then, the director of the game
and two others entered the room.
They began to tell the players
about the rules and the
conditions. Tom knew that the
game needed no virtual reality
cam. All the players will feel inside
the game. They must fight the
wild animals, protect themselves
from snakes, keep away from
holes and traps and also.. kill each
other..
When the manager
fished his talk,
strange smoke filled
the place. Tom
felt very sleepy.
When he got up, he
felt that he only
slept for a while. GAME
There was a STARTED..
message saying: PLAY ON..
Tom found himself in a very strange place.. It was like a
forest. Sunlight could hardly reach the place. He saw guns,
axes, swords, arrows and some food.
Arrows appeared every now and then to tell him where to
go.
Suddenly, a tiger attacked, then a lion, the a bear.. Tom was
very fast, and he could jump aside.. He used his weapons to
kill them.
 Stage 2
Fight lasted for so long. Tom did not know
how to stop the game. He was always in
danger. Nowhere was safe for him. He began
to feel that he was really in trouble.
He received the following note:

Game can only stop

when you kill all the
other players.
 Reality Revealed..
Fire started strongly. With every
shot, he saw his health line got
shorter. He fought and fought and
fought. He made a team with his
friend Mike and killed all the
other players. Now, only Tom and
Mike remained. At this point,
the game stopped, and the
following message
appeared:
Kill Tom
This Kill Mike
Is not a
Game!
It’s a reality. You have already
killed many animals and people.
But you thought it was a game..
Now you know the fact.. The
game can not stop and you can
not return to your world until
you kill your friend..
 Puzzled..
Tom was puzzled and very sad. He
didn’t know what to do. Did he really
kill many people? Did they really die?
Can he kill his own friend? Will his
friend let him do that? Mike was a
very powerful player. What can he
do? In Mike’s head, there were the
same ideas. They looked at each-
other for a while. What could they
do?
 What can I
do?

• Tom thought for sometime. He told himself, “This

can not be real.. It’s not more than a game.. A
player who is killed will surely get out of the
game.” He said to Mike, “We must do it.. We must
kill each-other if we want to get out of the game,
we just have to die.
 Back Home..
So, they decided not to fight, but only shoot
each-other. Once they did so, the whole view
changed and they found themselves back in
the cyber hall. As they were the last to finish
the game, the director decided to give each
one half of the prize. Tom was so happy. He
went back home with the prize money. His
parents were happy too.
