OBJECTIVE

Derivation of a critical limit for phase angle separation

from the reference source in equivalent local system
model, for transient instability prediction.

Alert the operator regarding characteristics of the power

system transient stability and it’s developing trend for
initiating auto/manual remedial action scheme

Should not be predefined set thresholds, but change

adaptively based on system conditions and changing
topology.
