oil, is a vegetables oil derived from peanuts.
• It is good source of vitamin E
• Groundnut oil Extraction Involves removing oil
content from the groundnut seed.
• Groundnut oil is commonly used in backing,frying
and other forms of cooking.
• It is also used it some parts of pharmaceuticals
industry to make skincare products or baby care
products.

 History of groundnut oil:-

• Peanut oil is been using by our Humans from past 3500 year ago.
• Africans were the first people to introduce peanuts to North America
beginning in the 1700s
• first use of peanut oil in 1900 in india.
• India is a world leader in groundnut farming, with 8 million hectare of cultivated
area in the year 2003.
• Groundnut cultivation has increased from 6.8 hectare in 1980-81 to 8 million
hectare in the year 2002-03.
• Peanut is grown mainly in five states Andhra Pradesh,Gujrat,Tamil
nadu,karnatka and maharasthra.
• Andhra Pradesh and Gujrat has more than 50% cultivated area.

 Groundnut oil manufacturing process is divided into two groups

1)Mechanical Pressure
2)Solvent extraction

 85% of oil can extract by mechanical pressure method.

 Remaining oil is extracted by the solvent extraction method.

 According to mechanical pressing technology,

 We can divide peanut oil Production process in three phases.

1. Cleaning-In cleaning process whole peanut can be clean using cleaning machine or manually to remove
Leaves,nodes,seeds, Mud particles etc.

2. Shelling-In shelling process Shells of the peanuts are removing by the rolling force.

3. Winnowing- In winnowing process lighter husk can be removed from peanut by wind or by blowing air.

4. Expelling- in expelling Process Oil can be extracting from peanut by mechanical method.

5. Collecting in tank-When extract oil came from expeller its temperature is around 120 degree, so it is stored
in a tank to cool.

6. Sieving-In this process oil and sludge can be separate with the help of vibro sifter machine.

7. Final Filtration-In final filtration oil can be filtered by cloth filter machine in 5to10 micron cloth filter.
