    Nicotine is the main addictive component in tobacco. It is

    Nicotine is a naturally produced alkaloid in the plants and is widely
    used recreationally as a stimulant and anxiolytic. As a pharmaceutical
    drug, it is used for smoking

    only receive specific neurotransmitters or chemicals. The receptors that nicotine
    binds to are called nicotinic-cholinergic receptors. Nicotine is an agonist, which
    means that when it binds to receptors, it brings about a biological response.
