 The fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is the secondary process converting middle distillate to lighter product. Fluid catalytic
cracking units currently operate with some higher boiling vacuum distillate bottoms (residue) in the feed.

 The main cracked products of fluid catalytic process are liquid petroleum Gas (LPG), Gasoline, Diesel, Heavy cycle oil and
coke.

 Y-Zeolite is the main constituents of FCC Catalyst. The zeolite is made up of a network of Si-O-Al atoms.

 Composition by weight of crude,

 It is often said that oils become heavier.


Nitrogenous compounds:- (Basic nitrogen compounds)
Non –basic nitrogen compounds:
 To determine the remove of basic Nitrogen compounds on fluid catalytic
cracking catalyst and additives performance, using :
Acridine

To determine the remove of Non - basic Nitrogen compounds on fluid catalytic
cracking catalyst and additives performance , using:

Carbazole

 To characterize the fresh and spend catalyst and additives for physicochemical
properties.

Basic nitrogen compounds: Pyridine, Quinoline, Isoquinoline, Acridine.
Non-basic nitrogen compounds: pyrrole, indole, Carbazole, benzocarbazole.
Solvent : n-hexane (= 99.7%)
Catalyst

Additives:
 ZSM-5
 GSR (Gasoline Sulfur Reduction)
Reaction condition:
 Pressure : 1 atm.
 Temperature : 490oC
 Liquid flow : 0.14 ml/min
 Gas flow (Hydrogen): 25ml/min
