OBSERVATIONS ON THE CURRENT TIMINIGS WITH SPECIFIC
REFERENCE TO BANGALORE-KANAKPURA ROUTE”

ABSTRACT

Transportation is the life of a city. An efficient and rational


transportation system not only increases accessibility and
improve quality of commuting it. Sustains the economic activity
that is engine of growth for the city. As our country gets more
and more urbanized, it is imperative that we start planning for
public transport. This study highlights the problem we face in
public transport, their reasons and providing suggestion for it.

INTRODUCTION

Research regularly confirms that higher bus punctuality and


customers observations on modern timings with precise
connection with Bangalore to Kanakapura route is a key priority
for passengers. A greater complex reason are negative stages of
punctuality and where development or potential to influence
improvement honestly falls. Punctuality of bus operation can be
defined as “timely operation of buses according to their operation
schedules”. It is often considered as one of the important measures
of bus operation reliability in evaluating bus operation
performance from the viewpoint of bus users. The public bus
transport facility provided for Bangalore-Kanakapura route faces
the problem regarding to the punctuality of bus timings.
OBJECTIVES

 To study the current bus timings punctuality of the same.

 To understand users’ profile and their typical usage on the


specified route.

 To analyze users’ perception about the bus timings


SCOPE OF THE STUDY

 This study covers the punctuality of bus timings and


customers observations on the modern timings with unique
reference to Bangalore-Kanakapura route.
 The key problematic of the present bus organization is to
originate period at bus stops and low attend of passengers.
 As the bus was mixed next with other vehicles, therefore the
dependability of the bus was moderately low and so that it
might cause the bus scheme to not be good-looking to
explorers.
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

 The study is limited to 60 people in Bangalore

 The study is restricted to the selected sample of


Bangalore and hence the result of the study cannot be
generalized.

 All the limitation of primary data are applicable to this


study
RESEARCH TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES

Primary data: Primary data are those data which are collected for
the first time by the researchers directly from main sources
Secondary data: The data presented here has been mainly
collected from various methods of secondary data.

For this study the data has been collected from both Sources

For collecting response, we will use google form. An Objective


type of questionnaire consisting of 24 questions will be prepared
DATA ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATION

 The larger part of the people groups is using public transportation


daily for a reason of going to school or college.

 The majority of the people are average waiting time for bus in bus
stand and average travelling time in public transportation is 15 to
30 minutes

 The majority of the people says that average people are


comfortable while travelling by bus.

 Seventy-six-point seven percentage of the people are agree with


the opinion on space and seating arrangement inside the bus is
comfortable.
SUGGESTION

 Increasing the bus frequency: when looking for ways to


enhance public transport, riders first and foremost want
frequency.
 Efficient bus ticketing system: Improving travel tagging
frameworks is a significant piece of how to improve transport
productivity.
 Passenger comfort: Riders need extensive transports that can
oblige however many travelers as could be expected under the
circumstances.
 Real time bus arrival signs in the bus stop: Split long routes
into shorter ones. Link the end of the path to transit hubs for
quick transfer.
CONCLUSION

Transportation framework is critical to metropolitan and social


turn of events. Transportation frameworks impact practically
every part of network life. They are the methods for moving
individuals, products and ventures all through networks, the
area, and, progressively, to objections around the globe. Thus,
transportation arranging is an especially significant segment in
the general anticipating what we need our networks to be.
